Different path than AMG

Mercedes-Benz only hangs four-cylinder in the AMG versions of the C-class. Anyone who is afraid that Audi will also pull engines with more than four cylinders from the RS future can continue to breathe easy. That’s not going to happen.
The Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic now has a horny 408 hp 2.0 four-cylinder engine instead of a six-cylinder, like its direct predecessor. Two pips less for the C43, but with the new C63 Mercedes-AMG made it even more colorful. Compared to the previous C63, it lost not two, but four cylinders. So no V8 for the Mercedes-AMG C63, but a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a system power of no less than 680 hp and 1,020 Nm to compensate.
Audi is not ready to switch to four-cylinder for the time being. So no four-cylinder for the next generation Audi RS3, RS4 or RS8. Constantin Dressler, head of product marketing at Audi Sport, told CNet. Dressler does say that Audi Sport will introduce future RS models to hybrid technology. This also seems necessary to keep up with the competitors. The Audi RS4 Avant with its 450 hp and 600 Nm strong 2.9 V6 is of course no match for the almost 700 hp Mercedes-AMG C63 SE Performance.
