Lexus RX

The new, fifth generation of the Lexus RX will arrive in our country next year, but the prices are already known. The plug-in hybrid RX 450h+ is by far the most attractive version.

The new Lexus RX will be available in the Netherlands from €84,995. For that amount, the plug-in hybrid Lexus RX 450h+ is immediately available. That car is slightly more expensive than the outgoing RX450h, which costs €82,795 as a Business Line. For the new model you also hand in two cylinders, because the new Lexus RX always has a four-cylinder on board. The new RX also has slightly less power with 306 instead of 313 hp. In exchange, however, you get plug-in hybrid technology, which should enable the RX 450h + to drive fully electrically up to 65 km.

Basic version Comfort Line is already equipped with a 14-inch touchscreen, (artificial) leather upholstery, seat heating and an extensive safety package. At an additional cost, the RX 450h+ is also available as a Luxury Line (€86,995), Executive Line (€91,995) and President Line (€97,995).

RX 300h

Lexus expects that plug-in hybrid RX 450h+ to be the most popular version of the new RX in the Netherlands, and there is no reason to doubt that. Thanks to its higher CO2 emissions, the less powerful RX350h does not cost less, but more than the RX450h+. Lexus asks at least €92,995 for it and we are still looking for a good argument to prefer this version over its more powerful brother. Even the towing weight is the same for all versions at 2,000 kg.

With the smaller Lexus NX, which has the same powertrains, the plug-less hybrid is cheaper. There, however, the ‘350’ is also available with front-wheel drive, while the RX always has four-wheel drive. The RX 350h is available in the same versions as the RX 450h+ and costs €105,995 as a fully loaded President Line.

RX 500h

A purchase argument for the thickest version of the series, the RX500h, is there again. With 371 hp and 645 Nm, this is by far the most powerful version of the new RX, while it also introduces a lot of new things with its turbo petrol engine, six-speed automatic transmission and special four-wheel drive. This 500h version is only available as a sporty and bold F Sport Line (and the F Sport Line only as 500h) and costs €129,995. This shifts the upper limit in the RX area considerably, because to date the most expensive RX costs just over a ton.
