About a week to go, and then there’s a big macOS update ready. According to reliable Apple insider Mark Gurman, Apple plans to release macOS Ventura.
Release macOS Ventura
After the iPhone 14 event, Apple already promised: macOS Ventura would appear in October. The tech giant did not mention a specific date. Now it will become clearer when we can download the new macOS operating system.
According to Gurman, Apple is on track to release macOS Ventura the week of October 24 — next week. He reports this in his weekly newsletter. At the same time, iPadOS 16 for the iPad will also be released.
Traditionally, a new operating system appears on a Monday or Tuesday. So we may be able to install macOS Ventura on October 24 or 25. The update will then be available from 19:00. You install it as follows:
- Click the  in the top left of the menu;
- Choose ‘System Preferences’;
- Click on ‘Software update’;
- The Mac checks for updates. When macOS Ventura is ready, a notification will appear. Click on ‘Update’.

New MacBook Pro
Gurman also has news about the new MacBook Pro. While the new iPad Pro models with M2 chip will be announced ‘within days’, the launch of the new MacBook Pro is taking longer.
Gurman says the MacBook Pros are on track to release “in the near future,” noting that Apple often launches new Macs in November. Rumor has it that the MacBook Pros look a lot like their predecessor. The main difference is that they are equipped with more powerful chips. You can configure them with the new M2 Pro or M2 Max processor.
