If you remove the skin and the fat layer underneath, you will mainly see muscles in animals (and we will limit ourselves to the vertebrates), but also parts of the skeleton and other organs. A picture is worth a thousand words, and if you really want to see it, you can visit the Körperwelten exhibition in Brussels.
