Goodbye Mick Schumacher

The Haas Formula 1 team has had several driver changes in recent years. In 2023, the composition of the team will look different again. Mick Schumacher will leave the team in 2023 and make way for Nico Hülkenberg.
In 2020, Haas’ F1 team still consisted of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen. The Russian driver Nikita Mazepin and the German Mick Schumacher – indeed the son of – were installed in the racing seats as replacements. Nikita Mazepin was already replaced this year by an old acquaintance: Kevin Magnussen. An old acquaintance will also return to Formula 1 in 2023: Nico Hülkenberg. In 2023 he will take the place of Mick Schumacher, who has not been able to convince team boss Günther Steiner sufficiently this season.
As mentioned, Nico Hülkenberg is certainly no stranger to Formula 1. Hülkenberg has been a reserve driver for the Aston Martin F1 team for the last two years and got behind the wheel during the Bahrain Grand Prix this year as a substitute for Sebastian Vettel. Hülkenberg could also be seen in action on the track during the Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia. The 35-year-old Hülkenberg – who also speaks a word of Dutch – has gained experience with many teams. Hulkenberg entered Formula 1 for the first time in 2010 and over the past twelve years he has scored a total of 521 points with Williams, Force India, Sauber, Renault, Racing Point and Aston Martin.
It is known that Hülkenberg can send a game. However, he never won a race. Nico Hülkenberg did manage to qualify on pole position in Brazil in 2010. Hülkenberg also has two fastest laps to his name. Hülkenberg managed to finish in fourth place three times, but has never reached third, second or first place. He therefore has the dubious honor of being the most experienced F1 driver (by number of races) ever to never finish on the podium.
On November 22, Nico Hülkenberg will get into a Haas F1 car. He then drives a series of test laps at the Yas Marina Circuit in Aby Dhabi.
