The notification center has a new look. Don’t you like that at all? You can customize and change this new version of Notification Center in iOS 16 as you wish.
iOS 16: redesigned Notification Center
Apple has overhauled the Notification Center in iOS 16. The most important change is that the messages no longer enter your home screen from top to bottom, but from bottom to top.
In addition, it is now possible to choose how the messages are displayed. The display of these notifications can be adjusted as desired, so that you can set up your message center according to your personal preference. For example, it is possible to place the messages in a stack, or to have them appear below each other.
This is how you customize the Notification Center in iOS 16
Not happy with your message center? Or do you want to try a different look? You can easily change the way your iPhone displays your messages. We explain how to change the notification center in iOS 16:
Customize Notification Center in iOS 16
- Open the ‘Settings’ on your iPhone;
- Tap on ‘Notifications’;
- Choose the view you prefer under ‘Show as’.
To change the iOS 16 Notification Center, you have to choose between ‘Count’, ‘Stack’ and ‘List’. These different views mean the following:
Number of: you only see a number of the number of notifications on your home screen.
Pile: You will see the top message of your notifications, the rest of your notifications will be placed below that.
List: your messages are placed as a list below each other and are all visible.
Change order of notifications
Unfortunately, the order of your message center cannot be changed. The notifications are now sorted by application, with which Apple tries to make the message center clearer. Many users seem to miss the chronological order of the Notification Center, increasing the demand to simply sort the notifications from newest to oldest (regardless of the app).
For example, if Apple listens to this question, there could be a choice between the classic (chronological) design of the notification center and the current (sorted by app) design of the notifications. Read all the new features that are likely to be introduced with iOS 16.2 here.
