Suzuki announces GSX-8S and V-Strom 800De prices

Suzuki has announced the prices of the all-new GSX-8S and also all-new V-Strom 800DE. Both models are expected in the first quarter of 2023, but in anticipation of this Suzuki Netherlands has planned a Sneak Preview event on January 6 and 7 in Vianen.

They had already been spotted during testing this year, so it came as no surprise that Suzuki was working on a parallel twin version of the SV650 and V-Strom 650, but contrary to what many media claimed, the spotted models were not replacements for those models, but an extension of the range.

Our source did indeed confirm that a new parallel twin platform was on the way, but dismissed the suggestion that they were replacements for the V-twin models to the land of fables. “That doesn’t make sense,” said our source, who said we should look more between the 650 and the 1050.

Exactly that was confirmed when the new GSX-8S and V-Strom 800DE were presented early last month, powered by a new 776cc parallel twin with 270° crankshaft, fitted with a patented Suzuki Cross Balancer and equipped with an up/down quickshifter as standard.

The twin is good for a peak power of 83 hp at 8,500 rpm at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 78 Nm at 6,800 rpm. Of course there is also an A2 variant available with 35 kW. The GSX-8S and V-Strom 800DE are also equipped with three driving modes and adjustable traction control, with the V-Strom the ABS on the rear wheel can be switched off and you also have the choice of a special Gravel mode.

Furthermore, both models are equipped with a 5-inch TFT color display, on the left side of which a 5-volt USB connection is provided to charge your TomTom or Smartphone. The standard equipment also includes LED lighting all around. For all the ins and outs, we refer to our news items about the GSX-8S and V-Strom 800DE.

The only thing we didn’t know at the beginning of last month was how much both bikes would cost, but Suzuki has now announced that today.

Prices for the new Suzuki GSX-8S start at € 9,999, available in three cool colorways, namely Pearl Cosmic Blue (QU2), Pearl Tech White (KGL) or Metallic Mat Black in combination with Glass Sparkle Black (QU1).

The V-STROM 800DE is available from €12,699. The new Adventure Sport is available in three different color combinations, Champion Yellow (YU1), Glass Mat Gray (QT7) and Glass Sparkle Black (YVB).

On top of the 3-year manufacturer’s warranty, Suzuki Nederland gives an additional 3-year warranty, which means you get a whopping 6-year warranty on both models, with a maximum of 100,000 kilometers, and that’s a nice thought.
