Production start Cybertruck also imminent

After the significant price reductions for the Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3, demand is unprecedented. Elon Musk said this in an online conversation with investors. Never before has the demand for the brand’s products been as great as it is now.
The worldwide price reductions of the Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y have boosted demand for those models. Tesla boss Elon Musk makes this known after publishing the brand’s results for Q4 of 2022. Where it previously seemed that Tesla could build cars faster than the brand could collect orders, that has now completely reversed. For every car it currently builds, Tesla receives two orders, Musk said.
That is not entirely the intention, so the brand has already partially reversed the price reduction of the Model Y in some markets. That did not happen (yet) in the Netherlands, but in the United States – where prices also dropped by thousands of euros earlier this month – Musk and his colleagues added another $ 500 to the asking price. Nevertheless, overall demand for Teslas is currently higher than ever.
Mass production Tesla Cybertruck in 2024
In meeting that demand, Tesla pays relatively close attention to the margin on its products, for which the efficiency of the production lines must be as high as possible. Musk himself returns to the importance of margins several times in the online conversation and the brand currently has one of the highest margins in the automotive industry. To keep it that way, Americans are investing billions in expanding their factories and building new ones, focusing on domestic production.
The Tesla Cybertruck should eventually go into production there this year, although Musk remains familiarly woolly on that subject: “We will start production in 2023, but production starts are actually not very interesting and I prefer not to say too much about it. Mass production is more interesting, and we expect to have it up and running by 2024.”
