Largest European VW SUV is coming back

The Volkswagen Touareg can no longer be ordered in the Netherlands since 2020. We can undoubtedly make those who miss him happy. The Volkswagen Touareg will soon return to the Netherlands!
The current third-generation Volkswagen Touareg was presented in 2018, but was not long-lived in the Netherlands. Or so it seemed. After all, the SUV disappeared from the Dutch order lists in 2020, but it will probably return this year. The Volkswagen Touareg is about to undergo a facelift and that facelifted version is coming to the Netherlands. The Dutch importer can confirm this to AutoWeek.
Until 2020, the Volkswagen Touareg was available in the Netherlands with a 340 hp V6 TSI petrol engine, with 231 hp and 286 hp powerful 3.0 TDIs and with a mighty 4.0 V8 TDI that kicked it up to 422 hp and – hold on – 900 Nm. Elsewhere in the world, Volkswagen also supplied it as the Touareg R with a plug-in hybrid powertrain of 462 hp. Sister models such as the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and even Bentley Bentayga do exist here with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. We would not be surprised if the Touareg finds its way back to the Dutch market as a plug-in hybrid, although nothing is officially known about the range of engines yet.
