Acura Electric Vision: now still dark, later with daylight

Honda’s luxury brand Acura will not only show the new ZDX at the Monterey Car Week, but will soon also unveil the Electric Vision Design Concept. He could just look ahead to a new NSX-like.

The Acura ZDX is the production version of a concept car that shone at the car party in California a year ago, but that doesn’t mean Acura won’t reveal a concept car at all this year. The Acura Performance Electric Vision is emphatically referred to as a ‘Design Study’ by the Japanese-American premium brand, and therefore mainly serves to show how Acura wants to fill in the electric future from a design point of view. Very different from the ZDX, we may say. Where that model still has a fairly traditional Acura appearance, including a (closed) grille, the Electric Vision seems to be a car with sleek details, combined with a voluptuous body. Where the front and back are apparently drawn with a ruler, the roof and wheel arches are strikingly rounded and ‘organic’ in shape.

The fact that Acura is working on such a supercar-like sportsman is in itself good news for enthusiasts. In North America, the Honda NSX was already sold as the Acura NSX. There, too, the second generation was not nearly as popular and legendary as the first, but that may not deter Acura from trying again. After all, electric powertrains change everything. Whether that is really the case, we do not know yet. However, it should become clear very soon how this still very dark concept car looks in daylight.
