Is double clicking difficult? In Windows, adjust the mouse response time to your liking.
Change speed
Double-clicking is essentially clicking the left mouse button twice quickly. Increase the time allowed between two clicks if you have trouble double-clicking.
- Click the Start button in the Taskbar.
- click on Institutions. That’s the gear icon.
- In Windows 10, click Devices. In Windows 11, click Bluetooth and devices.
- click on Mouse.
- Open the mouse properties at the bottom:
- Windows 10: Under “Related Settings”, click Additional mouse options.
- Windows 11: Under “Related Settings”, click Additional Mouse Settings.
- A window opens. Click on the tab Buttons if this tab is not already open.
- Below ‘Double-click speed’ is a scroll bar. This controls the speed. Drag the slider to the left to make it slower or to the right to increase the speed.
- Then double click on the sample folder. This way you can test whether you like the set speed. If the folder won’t open or close, try a slower setting.
- click on OK.
