An exceptional event needs a poster that is equally exceptional. On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August, DG Sport has an appointment with the entire motorcycle community on “the most beautiful circuit in the world”. To add luster to the event, the organizer has recruited none other than racing legend Giacomo Agostini.
The first edition of the Bikers’Festival, on and around the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, will present itself as a multiple event that combines circuit sessions for past and present motorcycles with a real open-air show in the paddocks, the very popular ‘Trial Classics’ , the revival of the 2 Jours de Stavelot for enduro enthusiasts, a ‘Moto Trail Ardenne’ for those who love rural excursions, a tour with the resounding name ‘Les 1000 Virages’ reserved for road machines and many other activities.
While many surprises are still being prepared, DG Sport is already proud to announce that this first Bikers’Festival will become even more attractive thanks to the presence of the living legend Giacomo Agostini. With his 15 world titles, won in the 350cc and 500cc categories, and his 122 Grand Prix victories, mostly in the colors of MV Agusta, ‘King Ago’ remains the most successful motorcycle racer in history to this day.
Between Spa and Agostini one can speak of a story of love and deep respect. The champion still remembers winning on the ‘big circuit’ at over 205 km/h… average! And it goes without saying that in those days, making mistakes or falling wasn’t an option.
The audience of the Bikers’Festival will thus have the opportunity to meet Giacomo Agostini for two days. Today, at the age of 81, the Italian, who comes from Brescia, remains very accessible to his many fans whom he greets with pleasure.
With the arrival of Agostini, DG Sport immediately sets the tone: the Bikers’Festival already shows its ambition at the first edition. It wants to prove itself as an event that groups people and that is able to appeal to all motorcycle enthusiasts. Other announcements will follow.
