It looks like the AirPods 4 will really arrive in 2024. But that also means that Apple will stop making the next earbuds.
‘AirPods 4 coming this year (and Apple will discontinue these earbuds)’
Usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman has released a number of interesting rumors about the AirPods 4. According to him, Apple will release a new version of Apple’s popular earbuds, the AirPods 4, in 2024.
Unfortunately, this means the end of the AirPods 2 and the AirPods 3. Apple plans to replace both with two different versions of the AirPods 4.
Design: mix of two acquaintances
According to Gurman, the design of the AirPods 4 models most resembles a mix between the AirPods 3 and the AirPods Pro. The AirPods 4 also have the short stems of these earbuds. None of the AirPods 4 get the silicone caps, but they do have an improved fit, according to the Apple expert.

Features: AirPods 4 will come with these features in 2024
Both models of the AirPods 4 that will be released in 2024 will have different features. For example, the more expensive version of the AirPods 4 has noise reduction (or: noise canceling). The other model does not get this feature.
What they both get is a new charging case with USB-C. However, the box of the more expensive version of the AirPods 4 will have built-in speakers and support for Apple’s Find My.
Usually new AirPods arrive at the same time as the new iPhone. And that would mean that the AirPods 4 will be released sometime in September 2024.
AirPods 4 or AirPods Lite
Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo has also said that Apple wants to release a cheaper version of the AirPods in 2024. These ‘AirPods Lite’ would then cost about $99. It is not known whether Kuo has the cheap version of the AirPods 4 in mind with the Lite.
