The new AirPods Pro 2 get lossless audio for better sound quality and a charging case that you’ll never lose (thanks to a special feature).
AirPods Pro 2: lossless audio
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the AirPods Pro 2 will have support for lossless audio. This means that you will soon be able to listen to music on your brand new earbuds without loss of quality.
The fact that Ming-Chi Kuo is saying this now is not entirely out of the blue: Recently Gary Geaves, vice president of acoustics at Apple, said in an interview that they are looking for a wireless standard with more bandwidth. For lossless audio you need a lot of bandwidth than the current wireless standard allows.
Never lose your charging case again thanks to a new function
In addition, Kuo indicated that the charging case also has a new trick: it is now possible to make a sound. This makes it a lot easier to find your charging case when you want to charge the earphones.
AirPods Pro 2: New Design and Health Features
The new AirPods Pro will also receive a new design and improved chip, according to Kuo. If we go by previous rumors, there is a good chance that the stem will disappear completely. This makes the design comparable to the Beats Fit Pro and Google Pixel Buds.
Furthermore, Apple seems to be adding several health features. The AirPods Pro 2 are said to be able to measure heart rate. Built-in motion sensors also enable fitness features. We can also expect improved noise cancellation.
