Airpods Pro 2 vs JBL Tour Pro 2

The AirPods Pro 2 and JBL Tour Pro 2 differ not only in physical features, but also in functionality. Yet the JBL Tour Pro 2 earbuds are certainly not inferior to these Apple earbuds. Is it wise to always automatically choose the most expensive and best-known option?

There are clear differences between the two earplugs, which may be important to you personally. Of course, the price also plays a role in this. Below we list the most important differences between the two earbuds for you.

Overview

How long does the battery last?

With a fully charged battery, you can listen for up to six hours with the AirPods Pro 2. If you use the MagSafe charging case, they will last up to thirty hours. To charge the MagSafe charging case, you can use an Apple Watch or MagSafe charger, a USB-C connector, or a Qi wireless charger. Unfortunately, the AirPods Pro 2 do not support fast charging.

AirPods Pro 2 vs JBL Tour Pro 2: what are the differences?

According to JBL, you can enjoy your favorite music for up to ten hours on a single battery charge. If you use the included charging case, the earbuds will last up to about forty hours. A full working day, in which music is continuously listened to, should therefore not be a problem for the earplugs.

The charging case contains a built-in battery, with which you can fully charge the earbuds three times on the go. Is your battery almost empty? Then fifteen minutes of fast charging gives you four hours of extra listening pleasure.

Noise reduction

The AirPods Pro 2 have been greatly improved in several areas. They can filter out up to twice as much noise compared to the first AirPods Pro. With the noise cancellation enabled, you can still hear voices and background noise very quietly, but it is no longer disturbing. This function is very useful if you often want to listen to music outdoors.

The True Adaptive Noise Canceling on the JBL Tour Pro 2 uses four noise-sensitive microphones that automatically adapt to your environment in real-time. It minimizes distractions when you need to concentrate. You can easily adjust the ANC mode with the JBL Headphones app.

Spatial Audio

Both earbuds support Spatial Audio, which converts the sound into a three-dimensional experience. However, Spatial Audio only works on iPhone with Apple’s AirPods. To use Spatial Audio with the JBL Tour Pro 2, you can use the charging case or the JBL Headphones app.

What’s the biggest difference?

The biggest and most noticeable difference between the two earbuds is in the charging case. The Tour Pro 2’s storage case is larger than many other earbuds for two main reasons. Of course, it has to match the buds themselves, but it also includes a 1.45-inch screen that is touch sensitive.

The JBL Tour Pro 2 smart charging case lets you manage earbud settings, check audio and battery levels, control calls and playback, and even set your alarm without using your phone. You can also personalize the screensaver with your own photos!

How much do the earplugs cost?

The recommended retail price of the JBL Tour Pro 2 is 279 euros, but you can currently find them for a lot less on Amazon. The champagne-colored variant now costs only 219 euros, which is a saving of no less than 60 euros compared to the recommended retail price.
