Apple is working on AirPods Pro 3
We won’t have to wait much longer for new AirPods, as Apple is reportedly planning to unveil the AirPods 4 in two weeks. The earbuds will be announced at the ‘Glowtime‘ event, which will also see the unveiling of the iPhone 16 and Apple Watch Series 10. Now, new rumors have surfaced predicting we’ll also see the AirPods Pro 3 soon.
Previously, the usually reliable Apple analyst Mark Gurman already indicated that Apple is working on new AirPods Pro. According to him, the earphones will get new health functions and an improved audio chip. Gurman expected a release of the AirPods Pro 3 in 2025, but it seems that the earphones may come earlier. According to new rumors, the AirPods Pro 3 will come this year.
AirPods Pro 3 get improved features
The AirPods Pro 3 are expected to get an improved version of noise cancellation. This function blocks out disturbing background noise, so that you can hear the audio from the earphones better. Noise cancellation reduces the amount of ambient noise, but it does not block out all annoying sounds. Apple is therefore likely to improve the function in the AirPods Pro 3.
The first and second generation of the AirPods Pro have silicone tips, which we will also see on the AirPods Pro 3. According to rumors, noise cancellation will mainly be adjusted through renewed software. So we do not see any changes in the design of the earphones. Instead, audio is better filtered by the AirPods Pro 3, so that disruptive noises are more blocked out.
Released faster than expected
While noise cancellation has been exclusive to the AirPods Pro so far, the feature is also likely coming to the AirPods 4. Those earbuds are being announced on September 9, so it’s possible we’ll see the AirPods Pro 3 then as well. Apple will not only introduce the first regular AirPods with noise cancellation, but will also immediately show off the improved version of the feature in the AirPods Pro 3.
The iPhone 16 event starts on September 9 at 7pm (CET). That’s when we’ll know for sure which AirPods will be revealed and what features exactly will be coming to the earbuds.
