Release of the AirPods Pro
It is expected that Apple will announce the AirPods Pro 3 at the same time as the iPhone 17 series. To present the new iPhones of the Year, Apple is organizing a special event. That event usually takes place at the beginning of September, with Apple often opting for a Tuesday. If Apple sticks to this tradition, the release of the AirPods Pro is striking Tuesday 9 September 2025.
It is still unclear whether the AirPods Pro 3 are available immediately after the announcement, or only appear in stores a week later. The new iPhone is usually available in stores a week later on Friday. This means that the final release of the AirPods Pro 3 falls no later than Friday 19 September 2025. So just patience, because Apple’s best ears will get even better in a few weeks.
Major changes
According to rumors, Apple is bringing major changes to the AirPods Pro 3. For the first time since the introduction of the AirPods Pro, Apple is adapting the design of the ears. The AirPods get shorter stalks and a more compact charging case. In addition, the third generation of the AirPods Pro receives much more (health) functions. This makes the audio quality much better and the H3 chip ensures improved noise reduction.
The AirPods Pro 3 will probably be Apple’s first ears with advanced health functions. You may be able to measure your body temperature with the AirPods Pro 3, while that is now only possible with the Apple Watch. The ears also receive features to serve as a hearing aid.
