Alpine Alpenglow is a futuristic hydrogen racer

Alpine already teased Tuesday with a photo of the Alpenglow, now the special concept car is already largely on display. The full disclosure will have to wait until Monday, although things are already becoming clear. If you didn’t know it’s an Alpine, we’d love it if you could see it. However, we can already get used to some design details, because according to Alpine this is a preview of the brand’s design language in the future. Probably not so much for the next few years, rather before the end of this decade or even beyond. The new Alpine A110, Alpine GT X-Over and Alpine R5 are getting an even more traditional look.

In addition, the Alpine Alpenglow looks ahead to Alpine’s race cars of the future. We can imagine something with that, because we are dealing with a WEC-like car here. Alpine is already participating in that racing class and will therefore probably remain active in it for a while.

In any case, Alpine seems to be already thinking about how racing with a combustion engine might still be an option in the future, possibly by using hydrogen as fuel. After all, we still hear an internal combustion engine in the video below, even though the Alpine Alpenglow is a hydrogen car according to the French. It is not the first time that Alpine has openly played with the idea of ​​using hydrogen. This also happened with the A4810 that was presented earlier this year and which the Alpine Alpenglow also resembles.
