From 1 to 7 in 7 years
Alpine is steaming not three, not even five, but seven new models ready for the near future. The newcomers all show their faces and Alpine fortunately clarifies what we are looking at.
At the beginning of 2021, Alpine surprised with the announcement that there will not only be an electric new A110 in the long run, but also a sporty electric hatchback and an electric crossover. At the end of last year it turned out that it would not remain with those three in the coming years and that there are still two additional newcomers in the pipeline. What seems? It doesn’t stop there either. Alpine will launch no fewer than seven new models until 2030, the brand has announced.
In the photos above we can already see the new Alpines, although we are not convinced of everything we see. In any case, in the middle is the new A110, to the right of it we see the A290 (Alpine’s version of the Renault 5) and to the left of it is probably the ‘GT-X Over’. And those other models? Well, Alpine already announced last year that there will also be two models in the D and E segment, but we’re still not quite there. Now Alpine reports that there will also be an open version of the A110 and an A310 called ‘four-door sports coupé’.
It was already rumored that Alpine would not join Lotus for the development of the new A110, and the French have now confirmed that to a certain extent. Alpine comes with its own Alpine Performance Platform (APP) and it will not only include the electric new A110, but also the open version and the A310. The A290 is of course, just like the Renault 5, on Renault’s CMFB-EV platform and the as-yet unnamed D and E-segmenters will probably also become cousins of electric Renaults.

Hydrogen, expansion to US
More interesting news: Alpine is working on an internal combustion engine that can handle hydrogen. It does not yet reveal concrete plans for this, although it states that it can be used for ‘exclusive sports cars’. It is no surprise that Alpine is betting on hydrogen. At the beginning of last year it showed the A4810, a futuristic hydrogen racer. The Alpenglow, which also appeared last year, also liked hydrogen and still emitted the sound of a combustion engine. It now appears that Alpine indeed wants to use hydrogen as a fuel.
There were also earlier indications that Alpine is working on expansion to the United States and now there is confirmation. From 2027, the French want to sell their cars there. There is also an Asian expansion coming from that year, possibly also to China. The overall picture must of course lead to more growth, more margin and more profit. Alpine wants to see sales grow by 40 percent every year until 2030 and to achieve a margin of more than 10 percent by 2030.
