Alpine & MV Agusta join forces

Alpine and motorcycle brand MV Agusta have teamed up for a special motorcycle: the Superveloce Alpine. The two-wheeler contains various style elements that refer to the French sports car brand. There are no plans for a special MV Agusta edition of the A110 yet, but Alpine is not ruling it out.

It is no coincidence that MV Agusta is going to build 110 copies of the limited Superveloce. The motorcycle’s design is inspired by the A110. The 147 hp two-wheeler is painted in a metallic blue and silver livery and has Alpine logos on the sides and on the leather band around the fuel tank. In addition, the French tricolor has been incorporated into the front fork. In addition, MV Agusta has used carbon fiber for the air intakes and fenders to further reduce the weight. Finally, the motorcycle has a special exhaust to add some extra power to the sound. No technical knowledge from Alpine was used for the special Superveloce, the project is purely cosmetic in nature. Incidentally, both companies do not rule out the possibility that they will work together on a technical level in the future.

The Italian-French cooperation arose because both companies say they have the shared vision that experience and driving pleasure is more important than just the pure numbers. Alpine plays the role of a sporty image maker within Renault and the sports car brand saw MV Agusta as a good partner to spread its sporty name among a wider audience. According to Alpine, customers are often also interested in motorcycling and motorcyclists are a possible target group for the A110. In this way, a win-win situation must arise for both manufacturers. Incidentally, there are no concrete plans yet for a special A110 with elements from MV Agusta. Patrick Marinoff, Alpine’s general manager, calls it an “interesting idea.”
