The list of prominent MotoGP riders for the upcoming edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed just keeps getting bigger. After Ducati, KTM, GASGAS and LCR Honda, Aprilia has now also confirmed its participation with the RS-GP 2023.
It is the event of the year for car and motorsport enthusiasts – especially classic fans – the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which is organized annually on the Goodwood estate of the Earl of Richmond and Gordon. The estate which is also the stage for the Goodwood Revival and Glorious Goodwood.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed attracts 100,000 spectators annually, who last year witnessed the reunion of Wayne Rainey with his YZR500 that won the 1992 500cc world title. It was the first time Rainey had ridden his 500cc Yamaha since his 1993 crash at Misano circuit, which left him with a spinal cord injury.
Previously, the factory Lenovo Ducati team, GASGAS Tech3, Red Bull KTM and LCR Honda had announced their presence, alongside many of the greats of yesteryear such as Alex Criville, Freddie Spencer, Giacomo Agostini, Casey Stoner, Kenny Roberts Jr, Kevin Schwantz, Mick Doohan and Wayne Gardner, together account for an impressive 32 world titles.
Three Aprilia MotoGP riders have now been added to the impressive list of MotoGP teams and riders: the two regular MotoGP riders Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez from the RNF Racing Aprilia team, and Aprilia test rider and wildcard rider Lorenzo Savadori, who will make their debut with RS-GP 2023. will make an appearance at the Goodwood Hillclimb.
This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place from Friday 13th to Sunday 16th July at the Goodwood estate.
