Electric pickups are popping up like mushrooms these days. The new American manufacturer Altis is now showing a more production-ready version of its XT, announced a few years ago.

Ford has the electric F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet and Ram come with electric sister models of the Silverado and 1500 respectively and start-ups also have electric pick-ups in the barrel. One such start-up is Rivian, a promising company whose R1T is almost ready for production. Another start-up with big ambitions in the field of electric pick-ups is Altis Motor Company. We first got wind of Altis in 2019 when the company showed off a digital drawing of its intended electric workhorse: the XT. Today, Altis lifts the XT Prototype onto the podium, a more production-ready version of the XT in which we seem to perceive some of the angularity of the Tesla Cybertruck.

Altis has cut away the few round shapes that could be seen in the computer drawing of the XT shown in 2019. The XT Prototype is peppered with sharp corners and tight folds. However, the XT Prototype is not designed as excessively as the Tesla Cybertruck. Altis Motor Company promises that its XT really is a workhorse and thereby throws impressive figures into the world. For example, the XT must be able to travel more than 800 kilometers on a full battery, with a capacity of no less than 250 kWh. According to Altis, the XT must also be able to pull up to almost 16,000 kilos and has a payload of about 2,270 kilos.

The colossus will have four electric motors that together deliver more than 600 hp power. This launches the pick-up in 5 seconds to a speed of 97 km/h (60 mph). Its top speed: about 200 km/h.

The XT will soon be available as a three- and six-seater. The six-seater has a loading platform that is just under 2 meters long, the variant with three seats and therefore a shorter cabin has a loading platform of almost 2.5 meters. Altis also promises the presence of a frunk – luggage space in the nose – with a capacity of about 525 liters. To make it even more beautiful, Altis promises that an empty battery pack of the XT can be fully charged again in 15 minutes.
