The new Blink Outdoor 4 from Amazon must offer livelier images thanks to the improved sensitivity and brightness in low light, a wider field of vision and improved motion detection. Moreover, there is a battery life of up to two years.
According to Amazon, their most popular camera is the Blink Outdoor for the Netherlands, of which a new version has now appeared with the Blink Outdoor 4. This is driven by a Blink designed chip and uses On-Device Computer Vision to Person Detection (Personal detection) possible. This requires a subscription and as a user you can decide for yourself which movement reports you can receive. The new Blink Outdoor 4 needs more vivid images thanks to the improved sensitivity and brightness in low light, a wider field of vision and improved motion detection. All this with a battery life of up to two years. The outdoor 4 is also available with Blink’s new synchronization module for cloud storage, the Blink Sync Module Core.
Blink Battery Extension Pack
In addition to the Blink Outdoor 4, the Blink Battery Extension Pack is now also for sale. This can be connected to the outdoor 4 to double the battery life from a maximum of two years to a maximum of four years.
Advanced functions
Thanks to the improved own silicon in the core of the Blink Outdoor 4, the camera has advanced motion detection with two zones, so that users can determine what warnings they receive and where on their site. This improved motion detection helps to reduce the number of false warnings and offers greater accuracy with movement. Two AA batteries let the battery work for up to two years. Blink users can connect up to 10 cameras to record movement clips and store in the cloud using the Sync Module Core (included in the system).
Privacy and Alexa
Users have the option to arrange privacy settings and with the Blink app users can adjust privacy zones. Hereby they only include what they want and can exclude areas, such as the public road or the yard of the neighbors. All communication between Blink devices and Amazon servers are locked, and all images are stored safely on Amazon servers in Europe. In addition, users can switch off the camera system at any time, which eliminates both the camera and the microphone.
The Blink Outdoor 4 works together with Alexa, so users the Alexa Blink SmartHome Skill Can use to connect an ultrasound device to the Blink app. For example, they can receive movement warnings, request and view live images, display live images of multiple cameras, create routines and switch their systems on and off.
