They say that ammonia is used to make an acid. Now I would like to know which acid, because otherwise it would be difficult for me to understand and explain it myself

Answer
Hi Elena,
That’s an interesting question. Ammonia is, as you know, a base, but you can oxidize ammonia with oxygen in the air to nitric acid or hydrogen nitrate. This reaction is catalyzed with platinum mesh.
The responses are the following:
4 NH3 + 5 O2 -> 4 NO + 6 H2O
2 NO + O2 -> 2 NO2
3 NO2 + H2O -> 2HNO3 + NO
Hydrogen nitrate is an important industrial raw material, which is used, among other things, for the production of fertilizers.
