New hidden feature in Apple Maps
The hidden feature Apple added to Apple Maps is a winery guide. This was done to promote the second season of Apple TV’s ‘Drops of God’. These include some of actor Tomohisa Yamashita’s favorite wineries in Europe and the US.
Apple occasionally releases one Apple Maps guide that is linked to one of his series or films. For example, the company released one last September Chief of War travel guide released, which highlighted ten historic and iconic locations in Hawaii and New Zealand that viewers might want to visit on their next trip. Now Apple is doing the same with Drops of God.
Wineries in California and Europe
As anyone familiar with the series would expect, “Drops of God: A World-Class Wine Guide” focuses on wineries in California and Europe. Or, as Apple itself describes it:
“Tomohisa Yamashita plays wine protégé Issei Tomine on the Apple TV show Drops of God. In real life, his own love of wine rivals his character’s. Here, Yamashita waxes poetic about his favorite bottles and vineyards from France to California.”

Each of the nine wineries on the list is provided with a brief explanation of why Yamashita chose it. You will also find opening hours, photos and additional information that can help viewers plan a tour.
