The Apple Devices app for Windows PC is an application that allows users to manage and sync their Apple devices, such as iPhones, iPads, and iPods, with a Windows computer.
For a long time, this function was reserved for iTunes, but Apple has said goodbye to iTunes and replaced it with separate apps including Apple Devices. This app offers functions such as backing up, restoring devices and managing media on an iPhone or iPad.
Apple Devices for Windows
Do you own an iPhone, iPad or iPod and a Windows PC? Then you would do well to install the Apple Devices app for Windows on your computer. With this app you can easily manage your Apple devices.
- Download Apple Devices Application for Windows 11 in the Microsoft Store
- Pair your Apple device to your computer
- Trust the connection on your iPhone, iPad or iPod
- Launch the Apple Devices app
Sync Apple devices with Windows
Syncing means transferring and keeping items up to date between your Windows device and an iPhone, iPad, or iPod. You sync items like music, movies, and TV shows on your Windows device with your Apple devices. For example, if you add a movie to your Windows device, you can sync your devices so that the movie appears on your iPhone.
When you connect an iPhone, iPad, or iPod to your Windows device, the Apple device appears in the sidebar of the Apple Devices app . Select the Apple device in the sidebar to see options to manage the device software and sync items with your Windows device.
In the navigation column, you can enable syncing for any type of content, such as music, movies, or TV shows. Choose the items you want and the app will do the rest (more info).
You can sync your Windows device and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when they are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. To set up Wi-Fi syncing, first connect your device with a cable, select your device in the navigation column, and turn on the Wi-Fi syncing option.
Backup your Apple devices
To keep the data on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch safe, you can make a backup of it. This way you can easily restore the data on your device when necessary. Of course, this can be an iCloud backup, but you can also make physical copies from the Apple Devices app.
- Connect the Apple device to your Windows PC
- Go to the Apple Devices app
- Select the device in the navigation column
- Select ‘General’
- Go to ‘Backups’
Select ‘Back up all the data on your computer on this computer’ [apparaat]’ to keep backups on your Windows device. Your device will create a backup on your Windows device during the next automatic backup.
Check the ‘Encrypt local backups’ checkbox to encrypt backups and protect them with a password.
To immediately back up your Apple device to your Windows device, select “Back Up Now.” After the backup is complete, select “Manage Backups” to view the backup file.
