It’s official: the new iPhone 16 will be unveiled during Apple’s event on Monday, September 9, along with many more Apple devices!
Apple Event: iPhone 16 Coming September 9
The invitations for the Apple event of the year have been sent out. The iPhone 16 event will take place on September 9th a little earlier than expected, but now you can definitely put it in your agenda. The event starts at 7 pm Dutch time.
It promises to be a very extensive Apple event, because Apple will not only reveal the four versions of the new iPhone 16. We also expect presentations of other Apple devices, such as the AirPods 4, Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 3. Below you can already read what you can expect!
iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max
The main showcase of Apple’s event will undoubtedly be the new flagship iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, which get major upgrades over last year’s models. Expect larger displays (6.3 inches for the Pro model, 6.9 inches for the Pro Max), a “capture button” for controlling the camera, a better ultra-wide camera, better low-light performance, 5x optical zoom, and an A18 Pro chip for AI.
iPhone 16 and 16 Plus
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will get the same screen sizes as last year’s models. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus could get the same A18 Pro chip as the Pro and Pro Max models, though. The aforementioned ‘capture button’ for camera functions is also likely coming to all iPhone 16 models. Other camera improvements and new color options are also expected to come to the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, with the AI features of iOS 18 likely to be a big selling point.
AirPods 4
There will likely be two separate versions of the AirPods 4, with the more expensive version likely coming with active noise cancellation, while the cheaper one will not. Additionally, both models will get a USB-C charging case and a refreshed design that looks like a combination of the AirPods Pro and AirPods 3. Support for Find My functionality will likely be reserved for the more expensive version of the new AirPods 4.
Apple Watch Series 10
Both standard sizes of the Apple Watch Series 10 will get bigger. The smaller Watch will be about the same size as the current larger model, while the larger option will be as big as the Ultra. The chassis will get slimmer and a more powerful chip will be added, potentially enabling support for Apple Intelligence and sensors for detecting high blood pressure and sleep apnea.
Apple Watch Ultra 3
The Apple Watch Ultra has been updated every year since its debut in 2022, and this year is no different. Not much is known about the Apple Watch Ultra 3 yet, but we’re expecting a faster chip that’s better equipped for AI. It could also come with new sensors. One thing that many potential buyers are excited about is a black titanium option.
Even more at the Apple event besides the iPhone 16
We can’t say anything for sure yet, but there’s a chance Apple could reveal more devices. The AirPods Max could also be getting an update, adding a USB-C port and a number of features currently exclusive to the AirPods Pro 2, such as Adaptive Audio, Call Detection, and Personalized Volume.
Apple may also introduce new MacBook Pro models with the M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max. A new iPad mini with an improved display, a better chip, and support for Apple Intelligence features is also possible. As is a new base iPad (11th generation) with a newer, more powerful chip. And finally, an M4 Mac mini and M4 iMac could appear.
We expect all of these products in 2024, but that doesn’t mean they’ll all be presented at the Apple event together with the iPhone 16. Some of these Apple products may not be released until later this fall. So, be patient, it will all become clear on September 9!
