The first Apple event of 2022 is fast approaching. On Tuesday, March 8, Apple will probably make the first product reveals of the year. Read on quickly, because in this article you can read about our expectations of the Apple event of March 2022!
March 2022 Apple Event
According to the very knowledgable Mark Gurman of Bloomberg Apple is aiming for the first Apple event of 2022 on Tuesday, March 8. The Apple insider also revealed which products we can expect. Apple is likely to unveil a new iPhone, iPad and Mac.
1. iPhone SE 2022
The first iPhone SE appeared in 2016, Apple released the second generation in 2020 and Apple will probably present the third version in March. The latest SE looks exactly like its predecessor, so it’s back with a 4.7-inch display with a home button for Touch ID.
Under the hood, however, the new iPhone SE 2022 has nice improvements. There is a modern processor in it, probably the A15 Bionic that is currently also in the iPhone 13 (Pro). It is also the first iPhone SE with 5G support. We also expect the camera to improve, although nothing is known about that yet.
2. iPad Air 2022
The iPad Pro, iPad mini and ‘regular’ iPad were upgraded last year, but it’s time for a refresh with the iPad Air. That seems to be coming soon, because there are indications that Apple will soon release a new iPad.
The new iPad Air has an improved chip (probably the A15 Bionic) and has 5G support. There will be no major design change. The iPad does get a new camera function, which the other iPad models already have: Middelpunt (Center Stage).
3. A New Mac – But Which One?
Trustworthy insider Gurman knows for sure: Apple plans to launch at least one new Mac in the spring. We expect Apple to unveil the Mac during the March event, as only an updated iPhone SE and iPad Air are a bit sparse for a special event.
Chances are it’s the high-end Mac mini or 27-inch iMac Pro. The Macs are powered by powerful M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. We’re giving the Mac mini the best chance, by the way, since there were recently rumors that the new iMac won’t be available until August or September.
