Apple event for Macs ‘Scary Fast’

First of all, the most important thing: Apple is mainly focusing on Macs during this ‘Scary Fast’ event. When you view the animation on the event website, you will see the Mac Finder logo. But which new Macs will come?

MacBook Pro (14 inches and 16 inches)

According to rumors, the MacBook Pro will receive an update. This laptop was updated in January 2023 with an M2 Pro and M2 Max chip. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro are now expected to be updated to an M3 Pro and M3 Max chip. It’s quite soon after the previous release and we admit: Apple doesn’t do that often. Yet it is not unthinkable.

The new chip gives the MacBook Pro a significant speed boost. The graphical power of these MacBooks in particular will be a lot better. Other rumors say that Apple will also introduce a more energy-efficient miniLED display with these MacBooks. There are no other innovations planned.

iMac (24 inches)

Apple hasn’t released a new iMac since 2021. This iMac still has an M1 chip. One of the new Macs that Apple will introduce during this ‘Scary Fast’ event will reportedly be a new iMac.

This iMac will have the same M3 chip as in the MacBook Pro (13 inches). The jump from M1 to M3 comes with significant improvements. But you will mainly notice this speed gain in the graphics area. The M3 also supports more RAM, so you’ll probably see an improvement there too. In addition, the SSD will probably also become somewhat larger.

m3 MacBook Air

There are no other major changes planned for the new iMac. According to usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman, Apple plans to adjust the standard slightly. In addition, there will be a lot of changes internally, but you won’t see any of that on the outside.

More than just Macs during ‘Scary Fast’?

Apple will probably also remove the lightning connection from a number of devices. Instead, these devices now have a USB-C connection. These are the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard.
