Apple Fitness+ available in the Netherlands from December 15

Apple finally brings Apple Fitness+ to the Netherlands. From December 15th Dutch people can use the popular fitness and wellness service, which is known for its seamless integration with Apple devices.

The expansion into the Netherlands is part of the largest expansion in the service’s five-year history. Starting December 15, the service will be available in Chile, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, Sweden and 17 other countries and regions. The service will not be available in Belgium for the time being.

Apple Fitness+

Apple Fitness Plus is an online fitness service from Apple that offers users access to virtual fitness classes and exercises, led by professional trainers, via a compatible iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or the Safari web browser. It offers a range of workouts, from yoga classes to high-intensity intervals.

In addition, the service uses the sensors and data from the Apple Watch to monitor and evaluate the user’s performance during exercises in real-time. Thanks to the right music, you will stay motivated and you will achieve your goals in no time.

Apple Fitness+ in Condition

Fitness+ can be found in the Fitness app under the corresponding tab. In the ‘Overview’ section you get an overview of all your achievements, trends and workouts, while in ‘Share’ you can share your achievements with friends and family.

The service offers twelve different types of workouts, including strength training, yoga, HIIT, pilates, dancing, cycling, kickboxing and meditation. These workouts range from 5 to 45 minutes and are suitable for all levels of trainers.

Link with Apple Watch and AirPods

An important part of Apple’s fitness service is the link with the Workout application for the Apple Watch. Fitness+ can automatically activate the Workout app and show the current results on the screen.

With the AirPods Pro 3 you can even monitor your heart rate during workouts – a feature available on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

Support Apple Devices

To use Fitness+ you need at least:

  • iPhone 8 or newer with iOS 16.1 or newer
  • Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 7.2 or later
  • Apple TV with tvOS 16.1 or later (optional)
  • AirPods Pro 3 for heart rate monitoring without Apple Watch (optional)
  • iPad with iPadOS 16.1 or newer (optional)

Prices and availability

Apple Fitness+ costs €9.99 per month or €79.99 per year. The service can be shared with up to five family members. Anyone with a new Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or AirPods Pro 3 will receive three months of free access.

The service will be available from December 15 in the Netherlands, Chile, the Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, Sweden and 17 other countries and regions. German and Spanish dubbing will be available from the same date.

Apple One Premier

The arrival of Apple Fitness+ in the Netherlands increases the chance that Apple One Premier will also be launched here, but this has not yet been officially confirmed. Apple One Premier includes Apple Fitness+ and Apple News+, and is available in countries where these services run. In Germany there is already a variant (Apple One Premium) without News+ but with Fitness+ for €34.95 per month, including access to Apple Music (family subscription), Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud+ with 2 TB storage.
