‘Apple gives iPhone 14 and future mixed reality glasses the fast WiFi 6E’

The iPhone 14 series and Apple’s future AR/VR glasses will get Wifi 6E, according to a recent rumor. This new Wi-Fi generation ensures that the devices can exchange data with each other more quickly.

Kuo: iPhone 14 series gets new WiFi generation

Apple’s iPhone 14 and much-discussed AR/VR glasses get the fast WiFi 6E. That reports Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the world’s most trusted Apple analysts. Wifi 6E is needed to be able to exchange data much faster wirelessly between different devices. This is necessary to make AR and VR experiences as smooth and realistic as possible.

There has been talk for years about Apple AR/VR glasses. The company has been working on this for a long time, according to several Apple leakers and analysts. According to Kuo, Apple’s future mixed reality headset will stream content at a high refresh rate of 120Hz. Images would look less truthful with a lower refresh rate. However, to keep streaming in 120Hz constantly, a fast connection is crucial.

Wifi 6E is of course also very nice for iPhone users who do not receive the unannounced Apple glasses. They can enjoy even shorter loading times of, for example, websites and videos.

More about Apple’s mixed reality glasses

Apple’s future mixed reality headset is expected to be a pricey and more “niche” device for developers. The headset features both augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). AR extends reality by overlaying it with a digital layer. Think of Pokemon GO. VR is the next step. This technique creates a completely new digital world.

According to previous rumors, Apple’s headset will get two 8K displays and more than a dozen cameras for tracking hand movements. Eye movements are also accurately measured via eye tracking. The headset must be connected to an iPhone to work. The device will therefore be a new addition to the Apple ecosystem.
