Apple is expanding iCloud this week with a new service, which is said to be available on the iPhone, iPad and Mac. This changes.
New iCloud service
A new service is coming to iCloud this week! According to the usually reliable Apple connoisseur Mark Gurman, this service is intended for organizing events, parties and meetings. It was already clear that Apple is working on a new position, because in iOS 18.3 a code was discovered under the name ‘Confetti’. Apple has not officially announced the new iCloud service.
According to Gurman, that will soon change, because he expects Apple to launch the iCloud service this week. It is not yet clear whether it is a new function for the agenda app, or whether there will be a completely new Apple Invites application to your iPhone, iPad and Mac (book). It is clear, however, that the service must make it easier to organize events through your Apple devices.
Organize events
Apple is said to have been planning the agenda app for years. The new iCloud service may be the first step in expanding Apple’s own agenda offer. Because of the code in iOS 18.3 we already have an idea of which new functions Apple is working. The service is in any case intended for organizing events, where you can invite several people.
Sending an invitation is done via a link that you can share on iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram or another platform. Via Apple Invites you can then see who is invited. That is not all, because you also see whether contact persons have already accepted the invitation. This way you get an overview of those present and the contacts that do not come. This iCloud service works according to rumors on all Apple devices, so you can always view the events on your iPhone, iPad and Mac (book).
Release this week
Incidentally, it does not matter whether the event takes place physically or online. You can probably add a link at online meetings or events, for example to a FaceTime interview. It remains to be seen whether Apple adds the iCloud service to the existing agenda app, or brings a completely new application to your iPhone, iPad and Mac (book). That will probably be clear later this week.
The expectation is that Apple will roll out the new iCloud service for all users this week. This is probably not required, because the new Apple Invites function has already been processed in iOS 18.3 and iPados 18.3. Apple still has to activate the feature, which will probably happen soon. So keep an eye on your iPhone, iPad and Mac (book), because you quickly get a handy function!
