It was expected that Apple would organize another event this month, but it appears that there will not be an October event in 2024 after all. This is why.
No Apple event in October
Autumn is always a busy time for Apple, because that is when the new iPhones, Apple Watches, Macs and iPads are released. The iPhone 16 has now been presented during an event in early September, where the Apple Watch Series 10 and the AirPods 4 were also unveiled. The new iPads and Macs are expected this month, for which Apple usually organizes a special October event.
This year, it seems unlikely that Apple will hold an October event, because the iPad mini 7 was already announced on October 15. This did not happen during a special event, but via a press release. It is expected that Apple will unveil the new Macs of 2024 in the same way, which means that there will probably no longer be an Apple event in 2024. Instead, several press releases are likely to appear in the coming weeks.
New Macs with M4
According to rumors, Apple is working on a new MacBook Pro, Mac mini and iMac. This year, all devices will switch to the powerful M4 chip, which the iPad Pro 2024 already runs on. It is almost certain that the MacBook Pro 2024 will be presented by Apple in October, because the laptop has already surfaced in Russia. As a result, we know that the device has 16 GB of RAM and three Thunderbolt 4 ports.
In addition to the MacBook Pro, Apple was expected to announce the iMac and Mac mini at the October 2024 event. These devices will also probably appear via press releases in the coming month. The iMac will reportedly have a new processor and come with updated accessories. The Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard are finally making the switch to USB-C.
Multiple releases in October
The Mac mini will reportedly have an updated design with a much thinner casing. The device therefore looks more like the current Apple TV. The Mac mini makes the switch from the M2 to the M4 chip and the standard model will probably have more storage space. It is not yet clear when Apple will present the Macs, which will probably happen at the end of October.
