Apple is said to be busy developing a smart video doorbell to better compete with Ring and Nest, among other things.
Apple is working on a smart video doorbell
The message comes from Bloomberg. It says that Apple has plans to use artificial intelligence for robotics, home security and smart screens. The company wants to develop a whole system of smart house cameras and other house protection products. This allows Apple to be able to compete better with brands such as Ring and Nest.
Bloomberg reported In December 2024 for the first time that Apple was working on a smart video doorbell with Face ID. Now it appears that Apple’s ambitions are going much further. According to the new message, Apple is working on the development of a camera for home security that works on batteries. With charging once, the camera would last no less than a few months to a year.

We expect this
Apple’s smart video doorbell gets face recognition and infrared sensors to determine who is present in a room. Apple assumes that users place cameras throughout their house to help with automation. This may make it possible that lamps are automatically switched off when someone leaves a room. Or that music is automatically played that a certain family member likes.
At the moment nothing is known about when the smart video doorbell of Apple should come on the market.
Apple also still works on a table model robot machine. This device is described as an iPad mounted on a movable arm that can turn and reposition itself to follow users in a room. Apple wants to launch this device in 2027. Work is also being done on a Smart Home display, which is said to be on the market halfway through next year.
