During the ‘AWE dropping’ event, Apple presents 8 new products with the iPhone 17 series as the highlight, and possibly a product.
Apple may present another product
The iPhone 17 event is full of announcements of new products. We expect at least four iPhone 17 models, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, the Apple Watch SE 3, the AirPods Pro 3 and the Apple Watch Series 11. In addition, there are rumors about another product that Apple may still have in store, namely the M5 iPad Pro.
This is apparent from two messages from a well-known but anonymous source on X. The two messages contain device data for the M5 iPad Pro line (11-inch and 13-inch) and the new Apple Watch line. The timing is at least strange, because the messages appeared just before the iPhone 17 event. Apple almost certainly presents the Watch products during that event, so it may also apply to the new iPad Pro.
Ten years later
In September it is ten years since the First iPad Pro was introduced. The exact date is September 9, 2015. This year’s ‘AWE dropping’ event is therefore ten years after the introduction of the first iPad Pro. If Apple presents another product during this event, it could just be a new iPad Pro.
Everything has been indicating for a while that the M5 iPad Pro will be on the market this fall. That is why it is not inconceivable that Apple is launching the new tablet on the tenth anniversary of the first iPad Pro. In addition, iPados 26 will be launched soon, without a doubt the largest upgrade ever for iPad software. This is also a reason for Apple to release the new iPad Pro just before that.
The timing of the message, the 10-year anniversary and iPados 26 makes the perfect date from September 9 to launch the M5 iPad Pro. If that is the case, the iPhone 17 event will be one of Apple’s largest hardware events for years.
