The iPhone event took place in September. For this month is – presumably – another Apple event on the roll. When is the October 2021 event, and what products is Apple announcing?
Apple October 2021 event
The Apple event of September 14 was largely dominated by the iPhone 13 series. In addition, Apple announced the new Apple Watch Series 7. The company also surprised with the launch of the sixth-generation iPad mini and ninth-generation iPad.
There is a good chance that Apple will announce new products again this month. Trusted Apple insider Mark Gurman previously reported that Apple is likely to host another Apple event in October, this time focusing on new Macs.
When is the Apple October 2021 event?
In the past ten years, Apple hosted seven October events. It is very likely that this will also be the case this year, because a spectacularly renewed MacBook Pro with M1X chip is in the pipeline. Apple will undoubtedly announce this again via a (virtual) event.
It is not yet known when the October event will take place. They usually take place on a Tuesday and the invitations are usually sent out about a week in advance. This means that there are two options left:
- Tuesday October 19
- Tuesday October 26
Previously, Google sent out its invitation to the next Pixel event, which starts on October 19. It is likely that Apple will opt for the last week of October. Tuesday October 26 is thus the most likely date for the October 2021 event.
What products is Apple announcing?
The spotlight will mainly be on the new MacBook Pro models, which have been strengthened by an updated Apple Silicon chip. Presumably, Apple calls this chip the M1X. The changes of the MacBook Pro models are big. They reportedly have a new design with flat sides, the Touch Bar disappears and several connections (HDMI and SD) return.
There is also a chance that Apple will announce a high-end Mac mini, a kind of Mac mini Pro. Previously rumored to have a new design with more Thunderbolt ports, a MagSafe charging connector, and a “plexiglass-like top.”
