Bad news for the wallet: the prices of Apple Music, Apple TV Plus and Apple One are going up. You will soon pay one or a few euros extra per month for all these services. We list the changes for you.
Apple Music and other services get higher price
In recent years, Apple has increasingly focused on services such as Apple Music, Apple TV Plus and Apple Arcade. For a fixed amount per month you have unlimited access to the entire collection of music, films and series or games. With Apple One you combine these services and you also get iCloud Plus with 50GB of free storage space. If you take a family plan, that’s 200GB.
iPhones, Macs and iPads have become a lot more expensive lately. Unfortunately, the price of Apple Music and some other subscriptions is now also going up. These are the new rates.
Apple Music
- Individual users: 10.99 euros per month (previously 9.99 euros)
- Families up to six users: 16.99 euros per month (previously 14.99 euros)
- Students: 5.99 euros per month (previously 4.99 euros)
Apple TV Plus
- 6.99 euros per month (previously 4.99 euros)
Apple One
- Individual users: 16.95 euros per month (previously 14.95 euros)
- Families up to six users: 22.95 euros per month (previously 19.95 euros)
Do you have one of these subscriptions? You will soon receive an email from Apple about the new price. It starts with the next billing, unless you cancel. New users immediately pay the higher rate.
The price of Apple Arcade will not change for the time being. You still pay 4.99 euros per month for that. A one-month free trial is also available.
Why Apple is raising prices
iPhones and Macs are becoming more expensive in the Netherlands mainly because of inflation. This is different with these services. According to Apple, the price of Music is going up because of increased licensing costs. Artists would start earning more for streaming their music.
Apple TV Plus launched for $4.99 per month when there were only a few series and movies on it. Apple says it will increase the price because the service now offers much more content.
