Stolen iPhone better protected

With this new feature in iOS 17.3 beta 1, you can protect your iPhone much better after it has been stolen. Of Stolen Device Protection, in Dutch the feature is called ‘Stolen Device Protection’, adding an extra layer of security to your iPhone. If the device is not near known locations, Face ID or Touch ID is required to access certain data.

This means that your private data will soon be better protected with Face ID or Touch ID, so that it cannot simply be changed if your iPhone is stolen. This is not necessary at known locations, such as your home or work location. Are you in a different place? Then security data cannot be changed without Face ID or Touch ID from iOS 17.3 beta 1.

This is especially useful if the thief knows your passcode, which is now no longer enough for full access to your iPhone. Previously, all this data could be adjusted with just the access code. In iOS 17.3 beta 1, access to your iPhone is therefore limited without access to Face ID or Touch ID.
