Apple releases watchOS 8.4 with one major improvement

Apple released watchOS 8.4 for the Apple Watch on Wednesday evening. The interim update comes a month after watchOS 8.3 and includes an important bug fix.

Several Apple Watch Series 7 users faced an issue where their smartwatch wouldn’t charge on third-party chargers.

In some situations, the Apple Watch wouldn’t charge at all, and in other cases, it charges for a few minutes, then stops sending power. This sometimes occurred with Apple-branded chargers as well.

Apple releases watchOS 8.4 with one major improvement

This issue has been resolved with watchOS 8.4. You install it by opening the iPhone’s Watch app and going to ‘General>Software Update’. Then tap ‘Install’. The Apple Watch must be at least 50 percent charged, placed on a charger, and within range of an iPhone before installation.

What else has changed?

Do you have an Apple Watch other than a Series 7, or did you not have the issues? Then watchOS 8.4 is not such an exciting update. However, it is recommended to install the interim update. This way your Watch is up to date again and you also have any security updates.
