Would you like an iMac with an M1 chip, but do you think the current model is too small or too slow? Good news: according to an acquaintance, the release of the larger iMac Pro is planned for June.
‘Release iMac Pro 2022 in June’
Last year, Apple released a colorful 24-inch iMac with M1 chip. Those who want the 27-inch variant, however, still have to rely on the old-fashioned Intel model. That may change this summer. The Trusted Analyst Ross Young says Apple is slated to release the iMac Pro in June. That would probably mean that the computer will be launched during the WWDC developer conference.
The iMac Pro probably runs on the faster M1 Pro and M1 Max chips that we also find in the current MacBook Pro 2021. In addition, we expect a design that resembles the smaller iMac, but with slightly more business-like colors.
Analysts have been debating whether the iMac Pro will get a mini LED display for some time now. Such displays offer a higher contrast and better black values than a normal LCD panel. According to Young, the iMac Pro does indeed have such a screen on board. That would be good news, because it makes movies and series look much nicer, for example.
Which Mac will we see at the spring event?
Earlier, Young wrote that the release of the iMac Pro 2022 was only planned for August or September. So it seems to be a little earlier. However, we should not expect the desktop computer yet during the spring event, which may take place on March 8th.
Apple has recently registered three new Macs that are coming soon. It may be a new, cheaper MacBook Pro and two high-end Mac minis. It’s quite likely that Apple will launch these machines in March. We also expect to see the iPhone SE 2022 and the iPad Air 2022 during that event.
