Just over a month and then the year will be over. If you don’t expect any new movies and series with Apple TV+ this year, you’ve come to the wrong place. OMT editor Jeroen Kraak tells us what you can expect from the streaming service.
During the winter months we spend a lot of time indoors and then it is ideal to try out Apple TV +. The streaming service now has a decent list of content and new titles are added every week. What can we expect in 2022?
New on Apple TV+
On Apple TV+ you can expect a mix between well-known titles and new content in the near future. What about the comeback of Will Smith and an important role for a Dutch actor.
Echo 3 – Nov. 23
Echo 3 has a Dutch touch. The protagonists are the well-known actor Luke Evans and our own Michiel Huisman. Set in South America, the thriller follows a brilliant young scientist who is the emotional heart of a small American family.
When she goes missing along the border between Colombia and Venezuela, her brother and husband struggle to find her in a personal drama set against the backdrop of a covert war.
Slow Horses (Season 2) – December 2
After a successful first season, Gary Oldman is back for a second season of this comedic espionage drama on Apple TV+. In this you see a dysfunctional team of the British intelligence service MI5.
The team is led by the brilliant but short-tempered Jackson Lamb. Spies who have made mistakes in their careers end up in the departments. They therefore have the necessary blunders to their name. Is it working now?
Emancipation – December 9
These Apple TV+ Movies is Will Smith’s comeback. We see the actor for the first time after his blow at the Oscars. He plays Peter, a man who escapes from slavery, relying on his wits, faith and deep love for his family.
He must do everything he can to survive cold-blooded hunters and the swamps of Louisiana. The film is inspired by Whipped Peter’s photographs. It shows how his back has been beaten by whiplashes. They contributed to the resistance against slavery.
Little America (season 2) – December 9
This series on the streaming service, which has already won many awards, is about the special and surprising stories of immigrants in the United States.
The second season of the Apple TV+ series features eight incredible stories inspired by real people from around the world. For example, there is a Belizean woman who works for a Hasidic family in New York and a Korean man who makes hats for the black church community in Detroit.
