Apple’s Wallet app got a bunch of new features in iOS 26, including this hidden addition you may have missed.
Apple Wallet has an additional setting in iOS 26
The Wallet app is the place on your iPhone where you store payment cards, flight boarding passes and the like. This way you never have to look for them and you can conjure them up very quickly. When you ever receive a notification from Wallet, it’s usually about important financial information, flight changes, or something else that’s important at that moment. At least until recently it was always something useful.
But earlier this year, as part of its marketing campaign for ‘F1 The Movie‘ suddenly a Wallet notification with an offer for movie tickets. Although the film was a hit, the marketing tactic was not well received at all. Many users then also looked in Wallet’s settings for a way to disable such notifications in the future. But iOS 18 had no such option at the time. Since then, it has become a highly requested Wallet setting for iOS 26.
Apple added it
And Apple listened, because it is exactly this setting that the company added to the Wallet app in iOS 26. The setting is called ‘Offers and advertising, and you can disable it as follows:
- Open the Wallet app;
- Tap the three dots at the top right;
- Choose ‘Notifications’;
- Disable the ‘Offers and advertising’ option.
You may have never received notifications of offers and advertisements in Wallet, not even in iOS 26. The fact that this option now exists indicates that this will inevitably happen in the future. That’s why it’s not a bad idea to disable the setting now!
