Apple Watch Ultra 2 is coming
Last year, Apple launched the Apple Watch Ultra, the most advanced and most expensive Apple Watch ever. Apple is expected to release a new Apple Watch Ultra this year. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 will then be launched together with the Apple Watch Series 9. It was already clear that the new watches run on the improved S9 chip and watchOS 10.

With the Apple Watch Ultra, you currently have little choice in terms of design. The first-generation Apple Watch Ultra is only available in one version, with a light titanium housing and a case size of 49 millimeters. This will change with the Apple Watch Ultra 2, because that watch is reportedly released in different colors.
New colors for the Apple Watch Ultra
It is expected that the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will also be launched in a dark version. Apple has reportedly already experimented with a housing made of dark titanium with the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra. Ultimately, this variant was not released, but that will probably happen this year with the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
The next generation Apple Watch Ultra will then be released with a light and dark housing. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is also made of titanium, so a black titanium model will probably be added to the collection. A big advantage of this is that the black screen edges of the watch are less noticeable. And of course it is nice to be able to choose from several colors.
Watch becomes much lighter
Also striking: the Apple Watch Ultra 2 may be much lighter than the first generation. At 61.3 grams, the Apple Watch Ultra is now Apple’s heaviest watch. Apple is trying to reduce this weight with the next Ultra, probably by manufacturing more parts with a 3D printer. It is also quite possible that the Apple Watch Ultra will become available in a smaller housing.
