The new year has started and that means it’s time to look ahead. Which products can you expect from Apple in 2024?
Apple in 2024
Apple unveiled and released a series of new products last year, including the iPhone 15 and the Vision Pro. The latter is one of the Apple products that we will finally see in stores in 2024. What else can you expect from Apple this year? We list the new products for you.
1. Apple Vision Pro (January 2024)
Apple finally presented the Vision Pro last year. The company’s first headset is extremely advanced with two 4K micro-LED screens, an M2 and R1 chip and twelve cameras. The Vision Pro runs on visionOS, a completely new operating system for the spatial computer. Apple unveiled the headset in 2023, but we still had to wait until 2024 for the product’s release.
That wait is almost over, because according to new rumors the headset will appear in (American) stores this month. This is the first time since the release of the Apple Watch that Apple has released a new product. We will have to wait a while until the Vision Pro comes to Europe in 2024, because the glasses will only appear in the United States at first. Europe may not follow until 2025.
2. iPad Pro with OLED screen (March 2024)
A new version of the iPad Pro is coming, which is said to have an even more advanced screen than the current generation. The new tablet may be equipped with an OLED screen. Apple is bringing the OLED screen to both the small and large versions of the iPad Pro. This means a significant upgrade, especially for the model with the 11-inch screen.
An OLED screen has improved brightness, higher contrast, wider viewing angles and deeper black tones. This makes the new screen of the iPad Pro comparable to that of the iPhone 15. In addition, the next iPad Pro will have an M3 chip and support for MagSafe. Apple will reportedly release the new iPad Pro with OLED screen in March 2024.
3. iPad Air in two sizes (March 2024)
In addition to the iPad Pro, the iPad Air will also receive an update in March 2024. Apple is expected to release two new models of the iPad Air in 2024. The difference between these models is reportedly the size, as there will be a 10.9- and a 12.9-inch version. Furthermore, no major changes are expected with the iPad Air in 2024.
4. iOS 18 (June 2024)
Of course, Apple will release another major update for your iPhone in 2024. According to rumors, iOS 18 will be one of the biggest updates in years, because Apple is incorporating artificial intelligence into the operating system on a large scale for the first time. 5. macOS 15, watchOS 11 and tvOS 18 (June 2024)
In addition to iOS 18, Apple will also release macOS 15, watchOS 11 and tvOS 18 in June 2024. We haven’t heard much about these software updates yet, but it is expected that we will also see many new features related to artificial intelligence. Apple is likely to incorporate AI into all operating systems this year, which will bring major changes.
6. visionOS 2 (June 2024)
In any case, the Vision Pro will come to the American Apple Stores in 2024, making the headset accessible to the general public. Apple’s first spatial computer runs on visionOS, the first version of which was released in 2023. The second generation of visionOS is expected to be released in June 2024. Apple will probably announce visionOS 2 at the WWDC, but it is still unknown what will change in the operating system.
7. Apple TV (first half of 2024)
According to rumors, Apple is working on a new generation of the Apple TV 4K. The Apple TV 4K will probably receive a minor update in 2024, with a new A16 chip and support for WiFi 6E or even WiFi 7. Furthermore, no major adjustments are expected to the Apple TV 4K. It is still unclear when the new generation of Apple TV 4K will appear, which will probably happen in the first half of 2024.
8. iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro (September 2024)
Of course, a new iPhone will also be released next year, and Apple will release the iPhone 16 in 2024. The ‘normal’ iPhone will get the action button next year, which we already see on the iPhone 15 Pro (Max). The iPhone 16 Pro will actually get a new button, which is reportedly called the ‘Capture Button’. And that is not the only change, because the iPhone 16 series will have much larger displays.
This makes the iPhone 16 Pro Max the largest iPhone we have ever seen. If that phone will be available, because there are rumors that Apple is replacing the iPhone 16 Pro Max with the iPhone 16 Ultra. 9. Apple Watch

10. AirPods 4 and AirPods Max 2 (September 2024)
In addition, more new Apple products will be released in September 2024, because the AirPods will also receive an update. The AirPods 4 are reportedly getting cool new features, including noise cancellation. So you don’t have to buy AirPods Pro next year if you noise cancelling want. According to rumors, we can finally expect a new generation of AirPods Max this year. Apple will release the AirPods Max 2 in September 2024, which at least have a USB-C connection. Other changes mentioned include new colors and improved audio quality. Unfortunately, few other changes are expected with the AirPods Max 2.
11. iPad mini 7 (October 2024)
Apple is expected to release as many as four new iPads in 2024, as no new models have been released at all in 2023. This is striking, because Apple has released a new generation every year since the introduction of the iPad in 2010. The iPad Air and the iPad Pro will be released in the spring, but we will have to wait until October for the iPad mini 7.
The iPad mini stands out because it was last updated in 2021. In 2024, Apple will equip the iPad mini with the fast A16 chip and support for WiFi 6E. The design of the iPad mini will probably remain unchanged. The same applies to the ‘normal’ iPad, which is also expected in October 2024. 12. Mac mini (late 2024)
Apple will probably provide the Mac mini with a minor update at the end of 2024. The Mac mini received a new M2 chip at the beginning of 2023, so it is expected that the new generation will run on the M3 chip this year. The new version of the Mac mini this year will probably get the M3 and M3 Pro chip in 2024. The Mac mini is also mainly about changes under the hood.
Apple accessories will receive an update in 2024
We can therefore expect a considerable number of new products from Apple in 2024.
