Aprilia RSV4 X-GP: 238 hp PUUR MOTOGP DNA

On the GP of Catalunya, Aprilia drew the canvas of the RSV4 X-GP, a special edition that comes directly from the MotoGP kitchen of Aprilia Racing. Only 30 pieces are built, in honor of the ten-year anniversary of the RS-GP in the royal class of Motorsport.

Aprilia RSV4 X-GP: 238 hp PUUR MOTOGP DNA

Not a complete surprise for regular readers: we had previously reported that Aprilia had the name X-GP recorded. At that time we speculated about what the Italians were planning – and now we know for sure.

With the X-GP, Aprilia continues its exclusive X-line-a series that started in 2019 with the RSV4 x, followed by the Tuono X in 2020, the high-tech RSV4 x Trenta in 2022 and this year the Extreme RSV4 x EX3MA. Each time an unprecedented exclusive toy, where that “X” stands for the Roman ten and for the highest that you can buy as a mortal in terms of technology and performance.

Pure MotoGP-Aero

The RSV4 X-GP is an aerodynamic artwork that immediately descended from the RS-GP25. The back in particular is designed in such a way that the air flows are identical to those of the MotoGP racer. Eye -catchers are the Wings and Tail Wings, technology developed exclusively by Aprilia and only appeared in the GP a few months ago. Together with the front wings, Cornering Wings and an underwing, they ensure more downforce in braking and submitting – more grip, more stability, more confidence.

The carbon subframe, made by Pan Compositi, is also unique. Thanks to a sandwich structure, it is ultra-light but super stiff, and it ensures that the driving behavior of the back is even closer to the MotoGP machine. On the back you will also find a double SC project outlet in MotoGP style, good for performance and pure racing sound.

Ground effect and carbon tub work

Another feat: Groundeffect-Aero. The special shape of the tub sucks the engine down, as it were, when you hang in the bend – more pressure on the tires, so more grip. The tubs are completely made of carbon, made according to the same procedures as the MotoGP machines. The result: five times as much vertical load on the straight, three times as much in the curves and a bike that stable and more precisely controlled than ever.

Beast of a block

The engine block is the well-known 65 ° V4 of 1099 cc, built in full SBK specs by Aprilia Racing. Good for 238 hp at 13,750 rpm and 131 Nm couple. This is possible thanks to a higher compression, sprint filter, adapted inlet, a titanium SC project exhaust and a STM dry clutch.

The electronics are arranged by the APX ECU of Aprilia Racing-the same system as in their WSBK machines. Everything is adjustable: Wheelie Control, Traction Control, Motor brake, adjustable per gear and provided with data analysis and GPS.

High-end hardware

The frame is the well-known aluminum double cradle frame, coupled with mechanically adjustable Öhlins (with an advanced ‘pressurized’ front fork) and a Brembo GP-Remsetup with Z04 blocks and T-Drive discs. The rims are forged magnesium marchesinis with Pirelli’s real WSBK Slicks (125/70 in front, 200/65 behind).

Everywhere you see the attention to detail: carbon mudguards, jetprime racing control buttons, CNC-milled aluminum parts of Spider, oversized radiators, PBR gears with titanium rear wheel and a light 520 RK chain.

Limited toy

Only 30 pieces of the RSV4 X-GP are built. They go for € 90,000 ex. VAT via factoryworks.aprilia.com on sale. In addition to the engine, buyers receive a Yashi laptop with ECU software, an NFT certificate of authenticity, IRC band heaters, RCB paddock stands, a floor mat and a cover. The engine itself can also be picked up personally at Aprilia Racing in Noale, including exclusive tour.

With the RSV4 X-GP, Aprilia again shows that the Factory Works program is more than marketing. It is MotoGP technology, directly from the paddock, for the real freaks that want the best of the best.
