The blood groups can be combined without any problem. Since you are negative yourself and the baby is too anyway, this is without risk.
If the mother has a Rh negative blood group and the father is Rh positive, there is a chance that the baby will also be Rh positive. In that case, the mother can produce antibodies against the baby’s blood and, in subsequent pregnancies, develop a serious immune reaction to the baby’s (Rs positive) blood. That baby can then develop severe anemia, because the mother’s antibodies will break down the blood.
