Do you still have a good quality amplifier but do you miss all the modern streaming options? The Argon Audio SOLO is the upgrade you need!
Make your old audio amplifier smart
Many people still have a great old audio amplifier, but lack a streaming function for playing Apple Music or Spotify, for example. They often opt for a wireless speaker, after which that great old amplifier is left collecting dust.
Shame! Because with the Argon Audio SOLO you simply add all conceivable streaming options to your amplifier, making it completely up to date in one fell swoop. The audio streamer delivers excellent sound quality, is very user-friendly and, at 249 euros, costs a lot less than a good quality wireless speaker.

The Argon Audio SOLO has everything you need
The Argon Audio SOLO is as minimalist and stylish as it is functional. With dimensions of 14.7 x 3.6 x 15 cm, you can place it practically anywhere. You can easily connect it to your amplifier via the analog, optical or coaxial output, and to the wall socket with an adapter. Furthermore, there is actually only a reset button on the audio streamer.
The audio streamer is equipped with AirPlay2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth (and, for the audiophiles among us, Ron Ready). There is no Ethernet connection, so everything goes via WiFi. This certainly works excellently in practice.
Setting up is a piece of cake
Once you have connected the Argon Audio SOLO to the wall socket and your amplifier (or active speaker), go to the settings of your iPhone. Argon doesn’t have an app, but you can easily set up the streamer as an AirPlay speaker.
In the Settings app, just tap ‘WiFi’ and you’ll see that the audio streamer has already been found as a network. Then under ‘Set up new AirPlay speaker’, tap ‘ArgonSOLO1C74CE’ to start the installation. If you want to use the Chromecast function, you can also add the SOLO to Google Home.
The Argon Audio SOLO delivers fantastic sound
Once the installation is complete, you can use the SOLO immediately. It doesn’t matter whether you use Bluetooth, WiFi (for example via Spotify Connect) or AirPlay2. It all works perfectly!
And as mentioned, the sound quality is really great! This is partly because the SOLO is based on a high-end DAC, namely the SABER ESS 9018. In combination with a good amplifier stage from Burr-Brown, you have a construction that is otherwise only found in extremely expensive installations.
