The brand will not disappoint in 2020 either. The new Accelerator chronographs are everything we’ve come to expect from Pulsar; Modern, sporty, accurate, and – not unimportantly – very affordable.
Pulsar offers value for money
Pulsar is a subsidiary of the Seiko watch brand. This has the great advantage that Pulsar can make use of the immense know-how and technology of this brand. The Accelerator chronograph therefore contains a powerful Seiko VR42 solar movement. In addition to the regular time display, this powers the chronograph which measures elapsed time up to a maximum of 29 minutes and 59 seconds in 1/1 second increments.
In addition, the watch is 10 ATM waterproof so you can go swimming with it. The battery of a solar timepiece is charged by all forms of light, so a battery never needs to be replaced and the watch remains watertight. You can read how full this battery is charged by pressing the lower pusher for longer than 1 second. When fully charged, the power reserve is 4 months (Power reserve is the time that the movement continues to run without being charged). And all this for a price under 200 euros. In our opinion an excellent price-quality ratio.
Pulsar Accelerator 2020
At first glance, the Accelerator is ‘just’ a chronograph, but if you look closely, you will notice all kinds of nice details, which have been carefully thought through by the designers. The color of the second and sub-dial hands returns as a decoration of the crown. The dial is patterned like a finish flag and a fuel indicator marks the seconds sub-dial of the chronograph. You will find the date window between the 4 and 5 o’clock position. Naturally, the indices and beautifully designed hands are provided with luminous material, so that the time can also be read well in the dark.
The Accelerator is available in various color combinations and with a choice of steel link strap or leather strap.
