Aston Martin shares a shadowy photo of what looks like an extra-fierce Vantage AMR. The new Formula 1 Safety Car may be the source of inspiration.
For example, it has been quiet around the Aston Martin Vantage for a while and suddenly there are several news items in a short time. Just under two weeks ago, Aston Martin showed the Vantage that functions as a Safety Car in Formula 1 at a number of races this year and it seems that this teaser photo is related to this. What can be seen of this mysterious Vantage strongly reminds us of the Safety Car. We see, among other things, a sturdy rear spoiler and the other grille with the horizontal chrome slats. Furthermore, the cooling fins on the flanks suggest that Vantage AMR genes are present.
We are betting that it is an extra heavy Vantage AMR, which in a sense will become the street-legal counterpart of the aforementioned Safety Car. The Vantage Safety Car has a step more power, with its 525 hp and 685 Nm strong 4.0 biturbo V8. It also has a modified automatic transmission for shorter shift moments, the cooling has been partly taken over from the Vantage GT4 racer and it has a modified chassis. Although the regular limited Vantage AMR did not have an automatic transmission, we would not be surprised if that is one of the things that makes this new version different from the AMR. March 22, so next Monday, we know. Then Aston Martin pulls the curtain off the car.
