With the V12 Speedster, Aston Martin created a very special open two-seater, which in itself already has the necessary similarities with old racing cars of the brand. Now Aston Martin is taking this a step further.
The V12 Speedster, limited to only 88 copies, is provided with a very clear nod to the past. The photos actually speak for themselves in that regard. The car is painted in the same color as Aston Martin’s most successful race car ever, the DBR1 from the 1950s. The green color is appropriately called ‘Aston Martin Racing Green’ and also the white dot in which the race number should appear on both the sides and the bonnet is present. Furthermore, it has chromed louvers in the grille and accents in the leather upholstery in the same green color.
Furthermore, there is of course a world of difference between the V12 Speedster and the DBR1. The DBR1, for example, had a 3.0-liter six-in-line, with which a top speed of more than 240 km / h was possible. The V12 Speedster draws no less than 700 hp from a 5.2 twelve-cylinder with turbo and accelerates up to 300 km / h. It is also slightly less rare than the DBR1, as only five were made of it. In 2017, one converted for more than € 25 million was auctioned. The V12 Speedster is actually not that expensive at € 880,000.
